Vice President Namadi Sambo won his polling unit for the first time in all tiers of elections held in Kaduna state since 2011.

Sambo secured 105 votes over Gen. Mohammed Buhari (rtd), Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, and his Deputy, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo who secured 20 votes at the Kabala Doki 011 polling unit, Kabala Ward, Kaduna South Local Government Area of Kaduna state.
INEC Presiding Officer for the ward, Mr. Olorunfemi Raphael announced the result around 6pm at the polling unit. It was a surprise development, as Kabala Doki ward is regarded as an APC stronghold.
In the April 2011 Presidential election elections followed Kaduna state Local Government Election in December, 2012 Sambo lost woefully at his Gambaraou Polling unit, Kabala Doki ward.
This time, he change his polling unit.
The Streets of Kaduna and other towns in the state are back to business as counting of result goes on.
So far, there has been no breach of the peace in any part of the state.
But, our Correspondent was informed that a ballot box filled with ballot papers was snatched by some youths at Maitozo Pulling unit, Maitozo ward, Sanga LGA, of Kaduna State.
At the time of sending this report, police were looking for them.
