With the recent meeting Tinubu held with all 13 APC aspirants in Lagos State assuring all of level playing ground in the forthcoming party primaries, also assuring the aspirants that the primaries would be free and fair. Tinubu also told the aspirants he has not endorsed any aspirant and that he certainly wasn’t personally involved in any aspirants guber ambition. This has thrown the Lagos guber race open to all aspirants on the APC platfporm. One thing to note concerning Lagos 2015 is that Lagosians have clearly declared their opinion that this time around, they want a christian as the next governor of the state.
Now this pitches Sasore against Ambode in the fight for the APC ticket. Both Ambode and Sasore are christians, one thing Lagosians have clamoured for; also, Both Sasore and Ambode are very well educated and very well competent to rule Lagos state. Ambode was a one time accountant-general of Lagos state who, under Tinubu helped formulated financial policies that saved Lagos that time.
Sasore Olasupo is the former commissioner for Justice, Lagos State, a senior advocate of Nigeria, SAN, a very well read man who understands clearly what it means to govern, haven been in the corridor of power himself. Clearly, both Sasore and Ambode run neck to neck in popularity rating.
However, it is presently unclear who would eventually get to fly the APC gubernatorial flag For Lagos, but one thing is clear though, as we gradually approach the primaries, things could become clear, then we would get to know the party flag bearer.
