Senator Bukola Saraki, president of the upper house has finally condemned the unlawful invasion of the national assembly premises by men of the State Security Service, DSS.
Speaking after cancelling today’s emergency meeting with both house of Representatives and Senate respectively, Saraki declared, “The heavy presence of armed security men who unnecessarily militarized the National Assembly and harassed legislators and the workers in the complex cannot be justified in a democracy.
“We urge Nigerians and the international community to condemn this illegal invasion of the National Assembly complex and the attempt to asphyxiate the legislature as undemocratic, uncivilized and irresponsible.”
