The agent of Jose Mourinho has held a fresh round of talks with Manchester United chief Ed Woodward.
The Manchester Evening News says Jorge Mendes has held further talks with Woodward about Mourinho taking charge in the summer.
Mourinho expects to replace Louis van Gaal in the Old Trafford hotseat at the end of the season with the Dutchman set to pay the price for the Red Devils’ poor campaign.
And it is claimed his confidence has been further boosted after his agent Mendes met again with executive vice-chairman Woodward over the past week.
His chances of taking charge have been boosted by Sir Alex Ferguson relaxing his opposition to the former Chelsea boss succeeding Van Gaal ahead of current assistant Ryan Giggs.
