TEXT: 1 Samuel. 30: 6; Joshua 1: 6,9; Psalm 30: 5; Isaiah 42: 2; Philippians 3: 13-14; 1 Timothy 6: 12; Hebrews 11: 6
“…weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”
Psalm 30: 5
The darkest part of the night is just before it starts to dawn, & so it is with the issues & the battles of life. The fiercest opposition is what you will usually face just before you hit your breakthrough. That’s why most give up when they were very close to their victories yet they never realized how close they were to victory when they gave up.
If there is one lesson you must learn & never forget in life; it’s that you must never be in the habit of giving up too soon. Do not give up on your self too soon. Don’t give up on your dreams, your aspirations, your expectations too soon. Don’t give up on your faith too soon. In whatever place you are tempted to quit, always seek God’s perspective & learn to draw from God’s grace. This is where prayers come in. It takes lots & lots of prayers to achieve & accomplish that dream of yours because the devil is usually going to do all he can to rob you of whatever blessings you are seeking from God.
“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly”
John 10: 10
There are many ways the devil would seek to rob you of your breakthroughs; delays & doubts are usually some of the things you would have to deal with. Many have given up just because they were faced with unexpected prolonged delays on the way to realizing their dreams. It happened to God’s people in the Old Testament too.
“And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.”
Numbers 21: 4
“…and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way”. They were actually getting closer to their promised land, but then they got to the point where they were really ready to throw in the towel & just give up on everything they had labored for, why? Because of delays & difficulties they faced on the way. Delay caused them to want to give up so badly that they eventually did & they never could realize they dream of the Promised Land. How did the devil deal with these guys? Through delay!
If you sign up for the faith life, you must also sign up for a life of patience, because faith & patience are inseparable, they always go together. Without patience you cannot succeed in the faith walk.
“That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”
Hebrew 6: 12
Did you see that? “..through faith & patience inherit the promise”. This is the eternal pattern of the faith life. As you make your faith confessions & declarations, it may some times look like it would take forever before you see results, but no, if you do not give up on your confessions of faith, pretty soon, you’d have glorious results & your faith would get a boost.
As you stand on God’s word, it may sometime look like it would take forever to get results, but no! If you learn to just hang in there, before long you’d have glorious manifestations to your faith. All the Fathers of faith the Bible mentioned had to practice both faith & patience to make it.
So, as the saying goes,” winners don’t quit & quitters don’t win”. A father once tried to teach his son the lesson of perseverance in the battles of life. The wise father asked his son, “son, do you remember Abraham Lincoln?”, the son answered, “yes dad”, the dad said, “good, and why do you remember him? The smart kids said, “Simple dad, Abraham Lincoln didn’t quit, so we remember him in history”. Now, the wise dad asked again, “son, do you remember Billy Jones?” the son said, “no dad I don’t remember him, who was he dad?” and the dad said,” see? You do not remember Billy Jones because he gave up on his dream, he quit & he ended up being a loser!”
The same goes for every Child of God today, you must never give up on your faith! It pays to hold on to faith & never quit!
“Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him”
Hebrew 10: 38.
If any man draw back, which like saying, if any man give up on faith God will not find pleasure in such a fellow.
Remember, the faith life is a fight, why? Because the devil will oppose your faith every inch of the way, just to stop your blessing. But this is a good faith, because from the word go your victory is guaranteed, praise God!
“Fight the good fight of faith…”
1 Timothy 6: 12.
When we learn to apply patience to faith, we frustrate the devil every step of the way & we hit our victory, remember, you’re just a step away from that financial breakthrough, that business breakthrough, that connection or contact you so badly desire, you are just a step away from victory, press on, your miracle is closer than you think.
To be Cont.
1. Lord, I break every evil force of delay from my life today in Jesus name.
2. Lord, deliver me from the evil forces of disappointment in Jesus name.
3. I declare that none of my breakthroughs shall pass me by in Jesus name.
