“…weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”
Psalm 30: 5
So many times in life’s battle, we get so close to our breakthroughs & victories without realizing it, and then we either give up or are tempted to quit. But if we had some form of insight into things from God’s perspective, we would have stayed in the fight & pressed one till we win.
I once lived in an apartment that had a long corridor & I loved coming out to pray on that corridor in the early hours of the morning when people were still asleep. I’d sometimes come out to pray by 2am, or 3am & I’d pray till dawn, this was my practice for the few years I lived there. Now, as I woke up to pray, at 2am it’s still very dark & at 3am it’s still dark. As I prayed on before my eyes it’ll start to dawn & the light of day will start to appear. But I experienced so many times that the night is usually so very dark just before it starts to dawn.
This is what David was talking about in the above Scripture passage,
“…weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning”.
Weeping here stands for whatever life’s challenge you may be faced with, it could be health, finance, marital, relational, social, professional or even spiritual. Now, whatever the challenge or problem, you’d find that just before you come out of that crisis, just before victory shows up for you, or just before solution comes, you usually come to that point where you cannot stand it anymore & you just want to throw in the towel & quit.
Maybe it’s a dream for some great business venture or a dream for any goal you’ve set for your life & you are really doing everything to make it work but it just isn’t working at all. Before breakthrough comes, it’ll usually get to the point where you are ready to give up, but if you have the eyes of faith & you have God’s word in you, you would quickly discern that your joy, or breakthrough is close & that’s the only reason Satan can fight you like crazy.
The founder of Full Gospel Business Men Fellowship International, a man called Demos Shakarayian. This man went through hell to make his ministry work, he gave it all he had but it just refused to work & so he decided to close shop. This very day he was going to close the whole thing down was the very day God showed up & sent him helpers & vision partners.
Folks, you may be just a step away from that money that answers to your prayers, that business breakthrough. You may be just a step way from that life changing miracle, so don’t give up now, just keep pressing on.
Now, usually, faith is the only access, the only door way into all that God Almighty has for us. Without faith we cannot receive from God, but as soon as you decide to live the faith life you would realize that you are in a fight against the host of darkness who really do not want you to be blessed.
“Fight the good fight of faith…”
1 Timothy 6: 12.
We are told to fight the good fight of faith. It’s a fight, but it’s a good fight, why? Because our victory is guaranteed from the word go. So, faith will unlock every door & bring us divine assistance for breakthroughs.
The next thing I want you to see is that, in the faith walk, there is no quitting, there is no giving up. Faith life is not for quitters, because the moment you give up you’ve lost out of whatever blessing was coming your way. In other words, if you believed God for something, and after 3 months your answers have not materialized and then you decided to give up in the 4th month, once you do that, you’ve automatically cancelled out all your believing in the past 3 months & you get nothing whatsoever, you lose your victory.
“Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him”
Hebrew 10: 38.
See? The just, or the righteous, or the Christian shall live by faith, but if he or she draw back of give up or quit, my soul shall have no pleasure in him”. That’s clear enough. So when you set out to believing God for a specific thing, don’t give up on your faith until the answer comes, praise God!
So what do you do whet tempted to give up? You just refuse to give up & you keep pressing on until victory comes!
“I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus”
