Former Bank director sues bank over alleged threat, intimidation

Dr Raymond Obier, a  former Director of Trustbond Mortgage Bank Plc, as dragged the bank to court, demanding N5 billion over alleged intimidation and harassment.

In the suit filed before the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos with No:FHC/L/CS/80/2018, the plaintiff, who was a member of the board of the defunct Intercontinental Bank, claimed that he was being harassed and intimidated over the affairs of the rested Intercontinental Homes Savings and Loans Ltd, (IHSL), now Trustbond Mortgage Bank Plc.

According to the brief filed on his behalf by Dr Oladapo Okanipekun, SAN, the plaintiff, who claimed the pressure mounted on him over the activities of the IHS&L had caused him “to suffer severe mental and emotional distress”, forcing him to seek medical attention, that caused him financial loss.

The claimant is therefore seeking among others that the court should declare the actions of the defendant, its agents, privies, including its assertions to report him to EFCC as unlawful in line with the provisions of the Companies and Allied Matters Act.
