FCMB Bank Manager, 5 Others Arrested For N369m Fraud

FCMB LOGO NEWIt’s nemesis time for Mrs Felicia Omoyenu, manager of  FCMB, Asaba, Delta State. Mrs Felicia Omoyenu, manager, FCMB, Asaba,  Luke Obasa, Maureen Joseph, Frank Obiorah, Jane Kuyi and Stella Otioere, all staff of FCMB were nabbed by policemen from the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Delta State Police Command for fraud and for diverting N369 Million belonging to the Delta state government into various fictitious accounts.

All five suspects, Mrs. Felicia Omoyenu , manager, FCMB Asaba,  Luke Obasa, Maureen Joseph, Frank Obiorah, Jane Kuyi and Stella Otioere, all staff of FCMB─ were nabbed on Tuesday after they had allegedly stolen and diverted the funds belonging to the Delta state government. Well, a whistle blower, actually, an employee of the state internal revenue board disclosed the financial fraud to the state authorities, and the authorities in turn got the police involved.

It is also interesting to note that as at the time of arrest and during police interrogation, it was discovered that the suspects had already shared their “cut of the deal” , as the confession of the suspects led to further discoveries. It was at that point discovered that about N70 Million was lodged in the account of the bank manager son’s account.

The other five other suspects did not disclose the exact amount they got, but that they were given only a small part of the money.” Mrs. Celestina kalu, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, confirmed the arrest of the suspects. The suspects have all been granted bail after two days in detention and is ongoing.
