Nigeria’s premium soft drink, Fayrouz, has joined other corporates in lending support to health workers at the frontline of the fight against Corona Virus (COVID-19) in Nigeria.
The brand which on Saturday, 28 March 2020, delivered packs of the premium soft drink to health workers at the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) office, Yaba, also began rallying support from the general public towards showing care to the individuals working tirelessly to ensure our safety during this pandemic.
According to a representative from the NCDC team, the workload for the team has greatly increased due to the wide spread of the virus which begs the need for them to stay hydrated at all times.
“We are grateful to the Fayrouz team and all other corporates who have continually shown their support to us at this time. This is a critical period for all of us and the need to stay hydrated cannot be overemphasized,” person X said.
The Portfolio Manager, Non-Alcoholic Drinks, Nigerian Breweries Plc, Kehinde Kadiri lauded the effort of the healthwokers, saying, “All Nigerians are proud of the hardwork and dedication shown thus far by the NCDC, doctors, nurses and technicians in treating and containing the spread of the Coronavirus in Nigeria. Fayrouz recognizes the needs of the healthcare professionals and will not support continue to offer support in key areas of need.”
Kadiri went further to urge public to continue in their support for the NCDC by following prescibed safety measures. “We urge members of the general public to show their support to the NCDC by simply observing all the safety precautions they’ve set us for us during this period. Let’s continue to show solidarity, and together, we will beat the spread,” she said.
