Due to the worsening situation globally with the coronavirus pandemic, the European football governing body’s 55 member associations met recently to brainstorm and came up with certain decisions for the time being;
English Premier league (EPL): All English Premier league matches are suspended until at least April 30, 2020.
Champions league and Europa: All champions league and Europa matches are suspended until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Also, domestic leagues across Europe hope to complete their remaining games immediately restrictions on movement and social gatherings are lifted.
Aleksander Ceferin, President of UEFA only last week said this footballing season could be lost if games do not resume soon, at least as early as June end.
Mr Ceferin also said playing the remaining games behind closed doors without spectators remains an option.
For now, everyone waits in hope that the global pandemic subsides.
