Adamu Mu’azu resigns as PDP Chairman

At last, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has tendered his resignation. Muazu resigned as PDP national chairman due to persistent calls as well as pressure from top party men to resign following the dismal showing of the PDP in the just concluded national elections.

Alhaji Adamu Muazu has for some time been resisting calls for his resignation, but he has had to tender his resignation at last for peace to reign in the PDP. His resignation is with immediate effect effect.

In a letter he wrote to the Deputy National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, Muazu, noted that due to the abysmal performance of the party during the March 28 Presidential election, it became imperative for him to go and for peace to reign in the PDP.

In the letter, he asked Secondus to step in as acting National Chairman in line with the party’s constitution.

Also, information reaching Omega News indicate that the PDP has received the resignation of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the party Tony Anenih,  The party said Mr. Anenih resigned “on personal grounds”. Details to follow soon.
