Acting Gov. Finitiri Disqualified From Contesting Adamawa Guber Poll

Shockers! As information reaching us indicate that the Acting Governor of Adamawa state, Ahmadu Finitiri has been disqualified  from contesting the state’s gubernatorial election slated for Saturday, October 11, 2014. He has been disqualified by his party, the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP.

Former Senate President, Ibrahim Mantu made the disclosure Saturday evening.

Mantu who is the PDP Chairman election screening committee stated that Finitiri’s disqualification was to allow free playing ground for all the candidates contesting the seat at the poll.

He said instead of contesting, Finitiri should concentrate on how to conduct a transparent, free, fair and credible election.

The primary of the October 11 poll is scheduled for next Saturday – September 6, 2014.

The forthcoming bye-election was necessitated owing to the impeachment on Tuesday July 15, of the former Governor Muritala Nyako by members of the state House of Assembly.pdp logo

Former EFCC Chairman, Nuhu Ribadu, Ex Lagos state Military Administrator (MILAD), Col Buba Marwa (rtd) and Marcus Gundiri were on Friday granted waiver to contest the PDP primaries.

With this recent development, the former EFCC Chairman, Nuhu Ribadu, and the Ex Lagos State Military Administrator Col Buba Marwa now appear to be the two front runners for the PDP guber ticket in Adamawa. One of these two men would definitely pick the PDP guber ticket come September 6.
