Well, who, or what can actually stop Mr Anthony Obuh from being sworn in as the next executive governor of Delta state come 2015? There’s been lots of rumors on the media concerning Tony Obuh’s guber ambitioned being threatened by opposition as well as other names from his senatorial zone being sent to Abuja for endosement. But clearly, it appears Mr Obuh is on top of the situation as his candidacy gets popular by the day and only recently, he has been publicly endorsed by both the executive and the legislative arms of the Delta State government and the ruling party, the PDP.

That setlles everything really, because as things stands, Obuh will certainly emerge the PDP flag bearer during the party primaries and one that happens, the man is as good as being the next governor of Delta State, come 2015. Mr Tony Obuh in his public speach promised to continue with the programmes of policies of the present government in Delta State.

“Our policies, programmes and projects would be built around the economic development of the strategy of Delta Beyond Oil. Its key elements include the building of strategic infrastructure to diversify the economy of the state from oil-dependence to non-oil dependent economy,” he stated.

Obuh said his vast experience in the civil service had prepared him for the challenges of governance, and he would use it optimally as governor.

The Deputy Majority Leader of the House of Assembly, Mr. Johnson Erijo, who spoke on behalf of the members of the House of Assembly present at the rally, said the state legislature had taken a decision to support Obuh.

Similarly, the State Executive Council also declared its support for the candidacy of Obuh. The decision of the SEC was announced by Dr. Joseph Otumara, the Commissioner for Health.

On his part, the Director General, Project 2015, Chief Fred Majemite, said Obuh’s government will be all-inclusive and would unite the divergent views of the people for their common good.

“Today, we present the face of a new Delta State, the builder who will build and consolidate on the solid foundation and cornerstone laid by the previous and present administrations of Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan,” Majemite said.
